APA Activity

In 1988, Cornell University hosted its first ECAASU conference during ECAASU’s tenth annual gathering.  Ten years later in 1998, our university hosted the conference for a second time.  Another ten years has passed and Cornell would like to take the reins for a third opportunity.

Cornell University is a premiere Ivy-League institution with a robust Asian Pacific American population on campus.  Housing more than 75 APA themed student organizations, a myriad Asian faculty and administrators, as well as a thriving Asian community boasting almost 3,000 APA undergraduates, Cornell University serves as a melting pot of Asian political, educational, and cultural activity.

The Cornell Asian Pacific Student Union (CAPSU), which encompasses a committee of student leaders from every segment of the Cornell Asian community, oversees all this activity, and additionally plans pan-Asian events for the community at large.  Last year, Cornell hosted its first ever Asia Night, where all the Asian student organizations gathered for one night of cultural showcases.  This year, CAPSU brought Wong Fu Productions to screen their independent film.
