on three projects: a study of the aesthetics and politics of force
in Shaftesbury, Addison, Dubos, Hume, and Rousseau; a study of publishing
as literary speculation in Swift and Defoe; and co-edited volume on Politics and the Passions from Bacon and Descartes to Kant
and Hegel. Research and teaching interests: eighteenth-century
English and French literature; eighteenth-century aesthetic, moral,
and political philosophy; print culture; poststructuralist theory.
