The Major in Economics

Taughannock Falls

Cornell's campus is surrounded by places of natural beauty.

Economics is the most popular major in the Arts College, with over 210 students graduating in 2007. The Economics major offers a unique combination of theoretical and analytical rigor with concern for "real world" problems, and our graduates have enjoyed an excellent record in job placement. Veterans of our undergraduate program go on to careers in banking, accounting, and management -- and also in journalism, government service, marketing, and a wide variety of other fields. Each year, several recent graduates enroll in law schools and in PhD programs. Explore the links below to find more information on the major, as well as other opportunities connected to our department.
