Write a 3-page paper comparing the medieval guide to Rome, The Marvels of Rome (Mirabilia Urbis Romae) , and our modern guidebook, Eyewitness Travel Guides: Rome .   Provide a general thesis about whether and why these two guides are alike or different in how they represent the city of Rome. You should choose one site discussed in both to be your central focus. But also take into account how these guides function as a whole.   How are they organized? Who are they for? What kinds of information do they include, and how is it presented?   (You'll need to distinguish between the original manuscript format of the Mirabilia and the expanded and illustrated version we are using.) Use specific examples from the two books to back up your argument and give page numbers of any passages or images that you discuss.
