Medieval French
DBM Army List Book 4, List64
ca. 1400 A.D.
In the summer of 2005 I picked up a Medieval French
army from a friend who was liquidating a few armies. How could I turn
down a price of $1.00/stand (yes, that's per STAND). They were based on
magnetic strips, which in some case were bending up around some edge. I
decided to rebase them on metal and experiment with a new technique
(described at Experiment in Basing).
Here we have a
smattering of French foot: Ps(S) on the left, then some
dismounted Men at Arms (Bd(S)), archers (Bw(I)), and Ax(X).
Of course the real
reason to pick Medieval French is for the abundant Kn(S). Bulked
up by the abundant cheap foot in the army they are most
formidable in a head on charge.
