January ’09 Updated and reorganized tutorials for VectorWorks 2009. Consolidated four of the tutorials into two tutorials that more efficiently and economically lead the user through exercises that facilitate the use of the application in a theatrical context. This is the seventh update since 1995.
1994 to 2008 - Five tutorials for VectorWorks CAD application. Self published and available via the internet. Vectorworks Tutorials for Theatre: 1) Drafting the Floorplan, 2) Drafting the Front Elevation, 3) Drafting the Light Plot, 4) Modeling 3d Scenic Space, & 5) Animation, Lighting and Rendering. Tutorials are made available on the web as downloadable PDF files and are used by institutions and inviduals throughout the world to facilitate the use of the application in a theatrical context. Revised every 2-3 years to coincide with VectorWorks upgrades, versions 6-11 & v2008 and v2009.

May '90 - Research grant from the Office of Research in Arts Technology, Illinois State University, to develop instructional material integratin the use of the computer with theatre design and technology.
Jan.' 90 - Research Initiative Award from Illinois State University for outstanding research in chosen field from a new faculty member.
Jan. '90 Teaching Improvement Grant from Illinois State University for the purchase of 3D CAD computer software that would allow for the visualization of two-dimensional scene designs in three dimensional space.
May '89 - Illinois State University Small Grant to finance a project that tested and compared the relative chroma and opacity of commercially prepared scenic paint.
Apr. '89 - Research grant from the Office for Research in Arts Technology (ORAT) to develop architectural drawings of ISU theatres using the "Dreams " CAD program.
