First-Year Writing Seminar Ballots Ballot Submission is Wednesday, July 10, 9am FWS offerings will be viewable Friday, July 5th. Those without a NetID may view FWS offerings starting Friday, July 5th. Ballot submission is NOT first-come, first served. To add a First-Year Writing Seminar during the Add/Drop period, go to the Student Center. At the search screen, click on “Additional Search Criteria,” then choose “FWS Session” from the “Session” field. This will show you all open FWS classes. Transfer students: English 2880-2890, a cluster of writing courses for sophomores, juniors, and seniors, may fulfill a First-Year Writing Seminar requirement for those who need it. Students enroll for these sections through Student Center. IMPORTANT DATES: • Submit your electronic ballot starting Wednesday, July 10, and no later than Sunday, July 21, 11:59pm. • Ballot results on Student Center by Friday, August 2nd. • Electronic Add/Drop for FWS starts Tuesday, August 27th. • Writing seminars begin Wednesday, August 28th. The last day to add a FWS is Wednesday, September 11th.
BALLOT SUBMISSION DETAILS: To enroll in a First-Year Writing Seminar for Fall 2013, go to the above URL (from 7/10-7/21) and select five (5) choices for your ballot. There will be pull down pick-lists sorted by Department and by Day/Time. Submit your electronic ballot starting Wednesday, July 10 and no later than 11:59 pm Sunday, July 21st. If you submit a ballot and then decide to cancel your ballot submission, please delete your ballot. You may change your ballot as many times as you like, from July 10th until PLEASE MAKE SURE THAT YOUR BALLOT SELECTIONS DO NOT CONFLICT WITH ANY OTHER CLASSES FOR WHICH YOU HAVE PRE-ENROLLED. If you do not submit a ballot, you may add a FWS beginning IF YOU ARE NOT ABLE TO ENTER A BALLOT: Matriculated Students: If you are or will be a matriculated freshman, sophomore, or transfer student (juniors and seniors add FWSs during add/drop) in one of the seven undergraduate colleges/schools at Cornell, but the system does not recognize your NetID, e-mail Donna O'Hora (dlo1) no later than Thursday, July 18th (you may be in the University's system, but not in the locally-kept database). Be sure to include your NetID (Cornell email address), CUID (7-digit number), Class (freshman, sophomore, or transfer student), and College. Continuing Education Students: Extramural students may add a First-Year Writing Seminar starting August 27th, at the Office of Continuing Education, B20 Day Hall. AOL Users: The Cornell login system, Kerberos, does not function with AOL's browser. AOL users should use a native version of Internet Explorer, NetScape, or Safari on a Macintosh. AOL users may also try another entry location.
