Lance Allred received his Ph.D. in Near Eastern Studies from Johns Hopkins
University in October, 2006 with a dissertation entitled "Cooks and
Kitchens: Centralized Food Production in Late Third Millennium
Mesopotamia." He is particularly interested in the state and provincial
administration in southern Mesopotamia during the Ur III period. His other
interests include the role of beer in Mesopotamian society and the history
of Assyriology.
