Damien Mahiet

Damien Mahiet is currently a musicology Ph. D. student at Cornell where he studies piano with Xak Bjerken, early keyboards with Malcolm Bilson, and conducting with Chris Kim. He holds a master's degree in political thought from Sciences Po, Paris. His musical studies began as a pianist in the city conservatories of Paris, and as a choirboy at the Maîtrise de Radio-France. He will serve as the assistant conductor of Chamber Orchestra for 2008-2009 season.

Chris Younghoon Kim

At Cornell, Professor Kim conducts the Symphony Orchestra, the Chamber Orchestra, and teaches conducting. He works closely with the students in the D.M.A. program in composition, assisting them in presenting their new works in concert.  He is also the artistic director of Brave New Works, a new music ensemble based in Ann Arbor, MI.  He frequently guest conducts groups such as the Firebird Ensemble and Kalistos Chamber Orchestra based in Boston, MA.
