San San Hnin Tun has taught Burmese at all levels, and French at high intermediate levels since she came to Cornell in 1989. Her research and course development time is divided between Burmese and French. She received her Ph.D, with a dissertation on "Discourse Marking in Burmese and English: A Corpus-Based Approach", from the University of Nottingham, United Kingdom in 2007. She is a recipient of the Clark Award for Distinguished Teaching in 1995.
