Christine Sparfel, Senior Lecturer in French Language, has been
teaching French language since 1979. Over the years, she has developed
materials for all levels, and particularly worked on the creation
of the course on intermediate reading and writing. For seven years,
she served as coordinator of the elementary level, and worked closely
with mentorship of TAs in that course, and currently serves as the
coordinator for the Intermediate Composition and Conversation I
level.
Her areas of academic interest relate to the development of effective
pedagogical tools, and novice teacher development in the Department.
She is the recipient of a Clark Award for Distinguished Teaching,
and of an award as Outstanding Educator, Merrill Presidential Scholar.
