Karolina Serafin has been teaching Italian language and culture for the past fourteen years. Teaching is her passion and her vocation. In her professional career she has taught at all levels of instruction from elementary through high school, and at several universities in Poland and in the United States. She has also taught methodology courses and trained new teachers. She is particularly interested in teaching culture in the language classroom, and in organizing outside of class activities with her students. She has presented several papers on teaching culture in the second language classroom, including such topics as Teaching Stereotypes; Teaching Language through Drama; and Applying the PACE Model to Teaching Culture.
Serafin received her M.A. and Ph.D. in Italian Contemporary Literature from the University of Warsaw, Poland, and her M.A. with Thesis in Teaching Culture in the Second Language Classroom from the University of Notre Dame, Indiana.
