The
Department of Romance Studies at Cornell also offers the
opportunity for students of any department to take courses in
Portuguese language and literatures and in Quechua. Students
interested in Latin American studies usually find this opportunity
especially attractive as their interests include Brazil or the Andean
region, and specialists in Early Modern studies find them equally
relevant to their research, whether focused on the Iberian Peninsula
or on Spanish America. Students interested in either of these
