Career Services for Arts and Sciences Students

Arts and Sciences Career Services, located in 61 Goldwin Smith Hall, provides career advising and counseling. Career development workshops, along with skill and interest inventory testing and counseling, are available to help students identify their career interests. Individual advising appointments are available to assist students with their job and internship searches, and in the graduate and professional school application process. Every student in the college receives electronic editions of the A&S Career Services Newsletter, which lists upcoming career programs, information about selected internships and fellowship opportunities, and general job and internship search advice.

The A&S career office also has a career resource library that includes opportunities abroad, internships, and professional and graduate school information. The office offers over forty career programs each year. These include recruiting events for off-campus jobs and internships, and alumni panels. Arts and Sciences students can also interact with Cornell alumni/ae for career advice through the Cornell Career Contact Network, an on-line database.

The A&S Career Office collaborates with Cornell Career Services for events such as the Cornell Career Fair, Graduate and Professional School Days, the Cornell Externship programs and other career programs targeted to the students across colleges. A&S students participate in Cornell’s on-campus recruiting and apply to positions directly through the Cornell Monstertrak System. The Arts and Sciences Career Services web site (http://www.arts.cornell.edu/career/), and the Cornell Career Services web site (http://www.career.cornell.edu/default.html) provide additional information.
