Pamela Lillard (Production Manager)


Prior to receiving her MFA in Stage Management from Virginia Tech, Pam earned her Equity membership by stage managing the Southeast tour of The Importance of Being Earnest for the Alabama Shakespeare Festival. After graduation, she went on to stage manage at many regional theatres throughout the country including Horse Cave Theatre in Kentucky, The Alaska Repertory Theatre and the Anchorage Opera in Alaska, Tacoma Actors’ Guild in Washington, Willamette Rep Theatre in Oregon and Shakespeare in the Park in Texas.


Pam joined the faculty of the department of Theatre, Film and Dance in 1987 first as the Production Stage Manager and later in her current position of Production Manager. She stage managed most of the early productions in the Schwartz Center including Marat/Sade, Cyrano de Bererac and Noises Off. In her current position, she keeps her hand in stage management by supervising two staff stage managers, teaching a course in stage management and mentoring student stage managers. Other responsibilities include coordinating residencies and functioning as a liaison for the many guest artists who join us each year, working on long-range planning, chairing the Black Box selection committee and writing numerous documents outlining the production aspects of various theatre and dance programs.
