Richard MacPike

Costume Shop Manager/Lecturer

Richard joined Cornellıs Department of Theatre, Film and Dance in 2001 as their Costume Shop Manager and Lecturer of Costume Technology where his courses include draping and flat pattern drafting, millinery, and fabric modification.

Prior to this position, Richard was a Project Manager for Parsons-Meares, Ltd., one of NYC's prominent costume houses. During his four years there, he managed and assisted on Broadway shows such as Julie Taymorıs The Green Bird and The Lion King, Ringling Brothers Barnum and Bailey circuses and Disney on Ice shows for Feld Entertainment, as well as projects for Walt Disney World and Disneyland. Richard has also worked producing costumes for companies such as the Huntington Theatre in Boston, the Alliance Theatre in Atlanta, the Santa Fe Opera, and Glimmerglass Opera.

He was the Resident Costume Designer for the University of Maine for three years and continues to design occasionally for Cornell as well as freelance. Richard holds a M.F.A. in Costume Design from Boston University.
